May 9th-15th

B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L! The highs for the next week will be in the mid to upper 60's everyday, with lows hovering around 40 at night. Hiking trails are becoming more visible in many areas of the parks. In areas around and below 7,000' there is barely any snow. Waterfalls are flowing fast and steady, so remember to use caution when approaching them.

May 5th

The five day forecast is showing a steady warm up and clear blue skies. The highs will range from 59-65 degrees, with lows dipping down into the upper 30s. This morning we have a 70% chance of snow. Most likely it will be around 1 or 2", and the sky is already starting to show signs of the possibility. Today the high will be 30 with a low of 12. There is quite a bit of wind blowing through the forest this morning but it is expected to slow down by the afternoon. The snow has turned into ice around the camp so snowboarding and cross country ski conditions are not suggested, although snowshoeing and tubing are still fine. We are finally experiencing spring like weather for the first time officially this year. The high today will be 48 with a low tonight of 24 ( brrr). Today the sun is out and the birds are singing loudly after the "big" snow storm. Overall we gathered about 7 inches of snow. It's not the 2' we were hoping for, but it works just fine. There is rumors of snow, but as of 8:30Am it is clear and sunny. There is a wind coming from the south, it is expected to reach around 20mph later today. Snow conditions are a bit icy but are expected to get better by 10Am.

Looks like rain!

This morning clouds are gray above us and it looks like we will be getting showers all day long and possibly into the night. It is a bit breezy so watch out for flying debris in the air, or on the roads. The high will up around 41F with a low of 34. If its gets cool enough we will have snow.

This morning the sky is mostly overcast, with breaks of sun shining over the Western Divide. It is currently 46F at 8:30 this morning, the high is expected to be 52. Spring Like Kinda Day...

As of 8:30AM i have seen two people walking around in t-shirts. No doubt about it, today will be a warm day with a high of around 50F with a low of 28F. Conditions for skiing are good in the early morning and getting slushy later in the day. 40 km of trails have been groomed, with 15 km being groomed this morning.

Another Nice One!

Lots of sunshine and mild temperatures again today. The high will be 41F with a very slight chance of snow later in the day. Temperatures will dip to 21F by midnight tonight. About 15km of trails have been freshly groomed, and the Big Meadows ski area will be groomed later today. The boulder has been removed from the road, so the 198 is open to the lodge.

Wednesday

Today feels and smells like spring. As of 8AM it is 34F and there is a misting of clouds floating low by the Great Western Divide and slighlty over the resort.The high is supposed to be around 42F with a low of 30 later tonight. The road is currently closed to the resort due to a mini van sized boulder that fell onto 198. Call the lodge for escort times, and updated road conditions throughout the day.

Another Day in Paradise

Wow...sunny and wonderful. Today is a great day to be outside skiing and having fun. It is slowly starting to warm up so the conditions are a little sticky,but still super fun! All trails have been groomed (40km) and are in superb condition. Have a great day wherever you may be.

Lots of SNOW!!

The past 5 days or so we have been getting heavy snowfall nearly everyday. The total snowfall from this past storm system totals between 32-40 inches. So come up and play! Today we awoke to another 5" of fresh snow. making our average base depth around 25". NICE!!We are expected to get another 12" of snow tomorrow throughout the day. Currently it is sunny with increasing clouds. We have a 20% chance of snow today. The ski conditions are great today with 15kn of trails freshly groomed.

February 11

Overnight we received just over 2.5" of fresh white lovely snow.Making our base average 30.5".The high will be around 30 with flurries expected throughout the day. 15km of trails have been freshly groomed as of 8am this morning.

Brr..

The temperature is currently 18F as of 8am this morning. The high is expected to be a steamy 27F. It is going to be a bright sunny day with a chance of snow later tonight. We have around 20km of trails groomed with the surface being packed powder. Back country trails for skiing and snowshoeing is unlimited. Currently there is around 28" of fresh powder.

13"

13" of fresh snow has blanketed Montecito.Ski conditions are great, and 12km of trails have been groomed as of 8:00 am. Today is a wonderful day for snowshoeing, and the back country trails are virtually unlimited. Please call for road conditions, as of 8am the Generals Highway has not been plowed. February 8

This morning trees are heavy with pure white snow. About 40km of trails have been freshly groomed and conditions are great.Today will be partly sunny with a high of 32 the low will be 9. As of 1 this afternoon, we have 6 inches of fresh snow. Today's high is expected to be 32 with a low around 25. February 5

Today we have a 100% chance of snow! Yeehaw!! Between today and tomorrow 9" of snow is predicted. There will be a high chance of snow today through Monday evening. Clouds are rolling over the great divide along with a steady breeze. Trails at big meadows were groomed on 2/1, around 30 km. Montecito was also groomed on 2/1, about 18 km. Trail conditions as of this morning are spring like with patchy snow cover in some areas. Look to the right side of the page for information on chains.

February 3

Today will be another mild day with a high of 54. A cold front will be moving in overnight giving us a 90% chance of snow Thursday, and a good chance of snow until Sunday. As of right now ski conditions are springlike (not very good). But with fresh snow that is sure to change. If you are coming up for the weekend be sure to have a 4WD vehicle or chains. Today Montecito is covered with beautiful fresh snow. Many of the trails have been freshly groomed and are in excellent condition for skiing. As of 9 am this morning there isn't a cloud in sight, and it is expected to remain clear until at least Saturday. The high will be 39 today with a low of 27.
